Neymar cries during birthday celebration: The Brazilian forward is currently out injured as he recovers from a metatarsal injury.
Neymar is on the sidelines as he recovers from a metatarsal injury. He sustained the injury during the game against Strasbourg.
PSG confirmed last week that the injury would rule out Neymar for at least ten weeks. The Brazilian forward would miss both the tie against Manchester United and a significant amount of league games during the time.
The forward reached Barcelona last week where he began a conservative treatment for the injury.
He celebrates his 27th birthday today and had a party with his close friends. However, he turned emotional as he talked about wanting to return to footballing action.
Neymar cries during birthday celebration:
Neymar told his friends and family members that he wishes for ‘a new metatarsal’ on his birthday, as he celebrated with them earlier today.
“What I wanted the most as a birthday present today is a new metatarsal. So, I could be on the field fighting and doing what I love the most, which is playing soccer,” Neymar said in an emotional speech.
Today happens to also be Neymar Jr. and Carlos Tevez’s birthday and well has Cristiano Ronaldo, but permit me to leave you with some magic from the man himself CR7.

He also revealed that he thought of cancelling the celebration due to the injury, but after talking with friends he decided to share a good time with the guests.
“It’s been very hard to be on crutches all this time. Every athlete knows how hard that is. They are giving me all the strength possible to help me return as soon as possible,” the Brazilian forward said.

Neymar suffered a similar injury during a similar time in the season last year. He played against Real Madrid in the first leg of the round-of-16 tie but faced an injury immediately after the game.
He remained on the sidelines for the entire season and made his recovery just in time for the World Cup in Russia.

Neymar is expected to return in mid-April. Should PSG beat Manchester United in the Champions League this month, Neymar may be available for the quarterfinal of the competition.
