Neymar Transfer News: Barcelona could face trouble with FFP if they sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germaine in the ongoing summer transfer season.
With the recruitment of Antoine Griezmann, Barcelona have bolstered their attack this season. However, that hasn’t stopped them in their pursuit of former star, Neymar. The Brazilian has made his desire to leave the French capital known and Barcelona are keen to bring him back. There is one huge hitch in the road though.

Paris Saint-Germaine, Neymar’s current club, while open to see the Brazilian leave, are asking a hefty amount in exchange. The Parisian club is reportedly looking for an offer in the region of 300 million euros. They will not entertain any offers under it reportedly.
This is troublesome for Barcelona as they do not have any available funds. The Spanish champions are currently in debt of Nearly 888 Million Euros. They are also €223 million behind in the books having already spent 225 million on incomings this season.
With UEFA indicating that the difference between buy ins and sales cannot exceed €100m, Barcelona will have an uphill task balancing the check should they somehow purchase Neymar this summer.
Barcelona does not want to pay for Neymar
Barcelona are aware of the situation and have instead offered player plus cash deals to PSG for the forward in lieu of bringing the figure down. Mundo Deportivo have reported that Barcelona do not want to spend any money at all and are hoping that PSG will agree to take two top players for Neymar.
MD have reported that Barcelona are offering Philippe Coutinho, plus one of Ivan Rakitić, Samuel Umtiti, or Ousmane Dembélé. However, according to a report from AS, PSG are stubborn about their valuation and will not lower their price. If Barcelona fail to convince the French Champions, then Neymar will have to sit another year in Paris. That might not be such a bad thing for the Catalans though as the FFP looms around their head.
