Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is a well-known personality, both within the NFL community and without. His social activism and his staunch protests against racial discrimination. Allegedly at the cost of his career, making him a hero for many. He is now once again making headlines, this time for helping Rob Adams’ grieving family sue the police for $100 million for fatally shooting him.

23-year-old Adams was shot by police during an alleged response to a 911 call about an armed man. The gruesome footage from a nearby CCTV and the body cams show the cops chasing Adams for a brief while, before opening fire. Adams succumbed to his injuries later in the day. His family has been trying to get justice for him ever since, and now, they might just have something, thanks to Kaepernick.
Kaepernick’s Autopsy Initiative is a sub-program in his ‘Know Your Rights Camp’. The initiative focuses on providing free secondary autopsies for families of those killed at the hands of police, or died in police custody. It is reportedly the only organization that provides a free secondary autopsy. The autopsy is now a crucial piece in a $100 million federal civil rights lawsuit, aimed at teaching police officers a lesson.
The police claim that the officers opened fire because Adams was armed. However, his mother, Tamika King, refuses the reasoning, saying that the object in question was a mobile phone. She was also apparently on a call with Adams when the police opened fire on her son. The San Bernadino Police have as of yet not commented on the independent autopsy.

Colin Kaepernick helps family sue police for $100 million through free autopsy
Colin Kaepernick has yet again found a way to help a family in distress. Kaepernick has been nothing less than a leader in the campaign for racial equality. While the $100 million demand from this family might seem extravagant, he will definitely agree that such an amount is necessary to send a message to all cops who racially profile, and use excessive force.
Kaepernick’s career in the NFL was short-lived after he famously started kneeling during the national anthem. His performance with the 49ers wasn’t the best. However, he was a decent prospect with a lot of talent yet to be unleashed. It seems as though teams most likely feared his open political stances may become a PR nightmare. This left him without a team since 2017.
He has since actively participated in multiple movements, including those protesting police shootings. He has also written a book for kids called “I Color Myself Different”. In addition, he is known for being a generous philanthropist. Often donating money to causes he sees are in line with his fight. While his return to the NFL is out of the question, he is definitely making progress in his activism life.
