Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson and his knee condition as the Ravens enter the Wild Card Weekend is causing more and more concern each day.

Due to a sprained knee sustained against the Denver Broncos in Week 13, Jackson, who significantly leads the Baltimore offense, has been sidelined since that game. It is unlikely that the quarterback will be available for Sunday night’s Super Wild Card Weekend game against the Bengals after missing another practice on Wednesday.

This season, the Ravens were 8-4 when Jackson started and 2-3 when he didn’t. With Tyler Huntley and Anthony Brown in charge, who have taken over for Jackson for the second year in a row, they are averaging 13 points per game. Baltimore has gone 2-3 during that time, but the situation does not appear promising for them.

Lamar Jackson Injury update

Jackson (knee) will not play this Sunday in Cincinnati, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Jackson was not seen at practice on Wednesday, according to local reporters in Baltimore, which raises the odds that he won’t be available for Sunday night’s Super Wild Card Weekend game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Jackson hasn’t participated in practice since suffering a knee injury in Week 13. He has attempted to work on his injury but isn’t feeling well right now, Garafolo added.

With a shoulder injury, Tyler Huntley, the backup quarterback, was allowed to practice on Friday. For Sunday’s game, he is officially listed as questionable. His previous restrictions prevented him from playing in the Bengals’ season-ending game on Sunday.

Since suffering a left knee injury on December 4 against the Denver Broncos, Jackson has been sidelined. At first, it was anticipated that he would return before the regular season ended, but he missed Baltimore’s final five games and will now be absent from Sunday’s wild-card game. With Huntley and backup Anthony Brown at quarterback, the Ravens went 1-3 down the stretch.

Without Jackson, the Ravens’ offence has struggled, scoring 12.5 points per game on average over their last five games, which ranks second-lowest in the NFL behind the Jets (11.0 PPG) in Weeks 13–18 and is 17 fewer points than Weeks 1–12.

Another worry is Jackson’s position with Baltimore after the postseason. The 26-year-old was placed on the franchise tag this season because he and his team were unable to reach a long-term contract. His estimated market value over the next six years is $245,442,090.
