NFL Analyst Calls Out Patrick Mahomes for Including the Jets Quarterback Aaron Rodgers in His Top 5 List
Ever since Patrick Mahomes won his second career title this season, experts have been including him in the GOAT debate. He is just about to enter his seventh NFL season, and already he has accomplished what most quarterbacks would imagine, achieving in their entire career. Statistically, he has surpassed the Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers in this race. Despite all these achievements, he maintains a humble attitude and ranks himself at the bottom of the legends who contributed to this game.
Recently, the Chiefs quarterback revealed his all-time greats list without naming himself among others. It became an instant hit on the internet, with experts discussing the credibility of this ranking. NFL analyst Nick Wright claimed that the gunslinger just downgraded himself and took a snub at Aaron Rodgers, who got a place in this list.
Nick Wright calls out Patrick Mahomes for including A-Rod in his top 5 rankings
The world has entirely changed for the Texas product after six years in the National Football League. Mahomes has now become an internet sensation, enlisting himself among the top celebrities in the sporting fraternity. Even legends of the game have been praising the quarterback for his dynamic skillset.
Ahead of the 2023 season, the passer was asked to rank his all-time five great QBs in the league. As expected, he gave Tom Brady the top 1 spot, Peyton Manning in the second position, and Aaron Rodgers at third. He then mentioned the names of Joe Montana, John Elway, and Dan Marino for the following positions.
“It breaks my heart to say this but Patrick Mahomes had a terrible Top 5 all time QB list. You can’t have this list and not have himself on it and have Aaron Rodgers on it. If Mahomes never played another down, he’s higher than Rodgers.” — @getnickwright pic.twitter.com/FOZM4rBu8u

While these rankings went viral, First Things Forts’s co-host Nick Wright commented on them. He believes A-Rod doesn’t deserve a spot because he only has a single Super Bowl title and possesses a poor playoff record of 11-10. However, when it comes to Mahomes, he has outnumbered the veteran in many ways.
“It breaks my heart to say this, but Patrick Mahomes had a terrible Top 5 all-time QB list. You can’t have this list and not have himself on it and have Aaron Rodgers on it. If Mahomes never played another down, he’s higher than Rodgers,” Wright said on live television. After his explanation, the analyst rolled out his opinion giving Mahomes a priority along with Brady, Manning, and Montana on the list.
Mahomes willing to chase Tom Brady’s seven titles
What Brady has accomplished in this league is something that will remain untouched for a couple of more years. Looking at the current skillset of the quarterback, Mahomes is the only one who can try to break this record. While speaking to reporters ahead of Super Bowl LVII, he mentioned his admiration for the NFL legend, saying that he would love to chase this record one day.
“It’ll be tough. I mean, seven Super Bowl victories, 10 Super Bowls, there’s a reason that he’s so far ahead of everybody else,” the Chiefs passer said, per Bleacher Report. “It’s hard to do, but I’ll do my best to chase it, but I’ll do my best to chase it,” he added. It will be interesting to see whether he can fulfill this dream before the end of his career.
