Peyton Manning is an avid follower of the NFL, even if he’s not playing anymore, and even he knows that Tom Brady and the NFC South don’t deserve to stand where they do.

The Buccaneers have been slumping all season long. Just when it looks like they can turn things around and follow up one win with another, they come back and perform equally lousy.
Currently, the Buccaneers are 6-8 and are in first place in the NFC South. The NFL playoff format has drawn a lot of criticism in the past, and the issues are being highlighted again with the NFC South’s performance.
Playoffs are structured such that division winners get a massive boost. They automatically qualify for the playoffs, and they also earn a home playoff game for the first round. That means that the Buccaneers sit in fourth place in the NFC, ahead of the 8-5-1 New York Giants and 7-6-1 Commanders.

Peyton Manning wants to cancel Tom Brady and the NFC South
Most people aren’t a fan of the way the NFL has the playoffs set up, and because of that, Peyton Manning felt like he needed to make his thoughts known as well.
Manning very much aligns with the same feeling that most fans have. “I talked to the commissioner. He says they might actually cancel the whole NFC South, and nobody goes to the playoffs, and just let all four teams in the NFC East go,” he jokingly said. However, is it really a joke?
Fans chimed in on his comment on social media.
“Yes cus why would someone be 6-8 and sitting above someone who’s 10-4?” one fan mentioned.
“2020 NFC East has competition for the worst single season division of all time,” another fan commented, digging up history on when the division rule has screwed teams over in the past.
In 2020-21, the Washington Commanders won the NFC East with a 7-9 record. If the NFC South doesn’t turn things around soon, it’s very possible that a team with a losing record ends up in the playoffs, and that would be fun for nobody.
It’s surprising that the NFC South is this way given the Tom Brady-led Buccaneers still exist. Brady has never had a losing record in his career, and in a weak division, the team was expected to perform better. However, the offense has been awful, and despite having a championship level defense, they can’t keep pace with the better teams in the league.
