“They Were Trying To Tank It”: Coach Steve Wilks Calls Out Panthers Owner After Registering a Terrific Win
On Sunday afternoon, the Carolina Panthers defeated the Seattle Seahawks and showed everyone what they can do on their day. However, Steve Wilks, the Panthers’ interim head coach, appeared to criticize the team owner after the game. Despite the team trying to “tank it” this year, Wilks praised his players for keeping up their efforts.

Wilks told reporters on Sunday afternoon, “With everything they’ve been through, the coaching changes, players leaving, the organization trying to tank it, all those different things, and seeing how those guys respond today is pretty thrilling seesee how those guys respond today is pretty thrilling, yes.”

After firing head coach Matt Rhule, the Panthers probably didn’t expect to gain much this year. However, they have turned things around and now have a real chance to go big in the weak NFC South.
Seattle Seahawks’ playoff chances took a hit after 30-24 loss to the Panthers
Once again, the Seattle Seahawks (7-6) were run over. On their way to a 30-24 victory, the Carolina Panthers (5-8) ran for well over 200 yards, held Geno Smith to his worst performance of the season, and took advantage of the dearth of healthy running backs.
The Panthers are only one game out of first place in the NFC South thanks to the San Francisco 49ers’ victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (with a tiebreaker advantage!). The Seahawks, meanwhile, are two points behind the 49ers and are no longer eligible for the wild card.
Big news: The #Seahawks now have the #2 overall pick with the Broncos losing to the Chiefs. Broncos have a worse S.O.S. than the Bears, which moves them up to take their spot! pic.twitter.com/iZ0aMGhtz8

The NFC South, by far the worst division in the NFL, swept Seattle. That’s not good. This team isn’t good, and they’re hurt. They’re looking more and more like the team we predicted they’d be in August. They may still be ahead of schedule, but they are still far behind what it takes to be a true contender.
