Tom Brady Led Chris Evans to an $80,000 Donation in Marvel's Fantasy Football Over Avengers Co-Stars Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Pratt in 2021

Tom Brady and Chris Evans have been friends for a long time, and one of the greater stories from their friendship revolves around how Brady helped Evans secure $80,000 for donations in a Fantasy Football League. In 2021, in the Marvel Avengers Fantasy Football League, Evans went toe-to-toe with his Avengers co-stars including Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Pratt. The prize pool consisted of $1 million in charity winnings provided by Fan Duel.

Chris Evans was raising money for Christopher’s Haven, an organization focused on operating and providing living and recreational spaces for families of children suffering from cancer. Christopher’s Haven recognizes that as parents are bustling around, looking for cures for their children, it becomes difficult on the child, and thus, they look to provide housing, community, and much more to children who are suffering from cancer.

Tom Brady helped Chris Evans pull out a 3rd place victory

In the fantasy league, Evans’ team wasn’t having the greatest season. It’s hard to build the perfect fantasy team and keep up with it as the NFL season progresses, but Evans did his best.

He had Tom Brady on his team, perhaps a testament to their old friendship, and was praying for a miracle by the time the NFL season was wrapping up.

Brady delivered for his old buddy. In week 16 of the 2020-21 season, the Buccaneers faced off against the Lions, and they feasted. Brady launched an aerial assault on Detroit, going for 348 passing yards on just 22/27 passing attempts and four touchdowns. All his damage was done early as the Bucs pulled him from the game after the first half.

Brady’s massive performance provided a big boost to Chris Evans as he reached the semifinals of the tournament and defeated ESPN’s fantasy stalwart, Matthew Berry. For his third-place finish, Evans won $80,000 to donate to Christopher’s Haven, and the organization could not have been more thrilled.

They posted on Instagram, “Wow, we are so honored and grateful to @ChrisEvans, @agboleague, and @FanDuel for giving us the opportunity to be involved in such an amazing fundraiser! Congrats to all the other amazing charities who won donations! Thank you!”

Brady and Chris Evans have had an up-and-down friendship

Chris Evans is a massive fan of the New England Patriots as he’s from Boston, and as a result, he is a huge fan and friend of Brady. He famously acted in a funny skit to defend the quarterback from Deflategate allegations on Jimmy Kimmel’s Live Show, and he’s attended several Patriots games when Brady was starting.

However, the actor also once claimed that he was very close to cutting things off with Brady. Brady used to be categorized as a Trump supporter because of his fond relationship with the ex-president, and Evans didn’t like that. He hoped that Brady regretted being close to Trump and that perhaps he was now aware of everything.
