A Year After Signing $375,000,000 Broadcast Deal, Tom Brady Takes a Dig at Urban Meyer in Fox's New Michigan Hype Video

Tom Brady recently appeared in Fox Sports’ hype video on his alma mater Michigan Wolverines and fans are thoroughly elated. A year after signing his mammoth $375,000,000 broadcasting deal with the network, Brady, in the Fox’s video, took a dig at Urban Meyer, while talking about Michigan’s upper hand on Ohio State. Meyer served as the head coach for the Buckeyes for six years, from 2012 to 2018 and remains a vociferous fan, even after leaving the role.

During his recent appearance in Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff” announcement video for Michigan vs. Ohio State, it was clear which side Brady would pick. The NFL legend talked about all the weapons Michigan has at its disposal, while firing friendly shots at former Jacksonville coach Urban Meyer.

Tom Brady Takes a Subtle dig at Urban Meyer in Fox Sports’ Video

Last year, Tom Brady made heads turn by signing a magnificent 10-year $375 million contract with Fox Sports. Although he signed the contract during his final season in the NFL, the 46-year-old is yet to start his new role of calling games, which would probably be somewhere in 2024. However, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback made his first appearance on Fox Sports, during their “Big Noon Kickoff” segment, voicing his support for the Michigan Wolverines.

Tom Brady, who played his entire college football for the Michigan team, took a cheeky jab at former Ohio State coach, Urban Meyer by stating, “Sorry Urban. Look, coach Harbaugh has got all his key pieces back. He’s got a blue-chip quarterback in J.J. McCarthy, a two-headed monster in the backfield. We have a loaded defense.”

“Look guys, I hate to ruin this for everyone else but this is Michigan’s year. We are coming off two back-to-back Big 10 titles, and two straight Ohio state beatdowns. The winningest program in college football history is ready to go and make another national championship run. We got this, let’s go. Go BLUE!!,” Brady further claimed

Michigan have big expectations to fill this season, especially after Brady’s vote of confidence in them. The Wolverines started off on the perfect note with a 30-3 victory over East Carolina. Wolverines’ QB J.J. McCarthy performed exceptionally for his side and vindicated Brady’s predictions about him.

Michigan Played a Huge Role in Tom Brady’s Success

Tom Brady is a Michigan Wolverines alumnus and it comes as no surprise that he harbours an incredible amount of love for his former team. He owes a lot of his success in the NFL to his time at Michigan, where he initially started as the 7th-choice quarterback for the team. With game time very hard to come by in Michigan in the initial days, Brady had to fight exceptionally hard to make his presence felt.

Nevertheless, Tom gradually improved himself as a player and eventually got selected by the New England Patriots as the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL draft. He finally graduated from Michigan University with 710 attempts and 442 completions. Back to 2023, Tom Brady has predicted big things for the Wolverines this season, and they need to do everything in their capacity to make them come true.
