Despite having a bye week this week and being off, the Arizona Cardinals somehow managed to make headlines once more. Former Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson, who is currently playing for the Minnesota Vikings, had made negative remarks about quarterback Kyler Murray and general manager Steve Keim.

Peterson recently appeared on the CBS Sports “All Things Covered” podcast and shared his thoughts on the ongoing chaos in Arizona.

When the subject of Arizona’s shortcomings and potential scapegoats came up, Peterson slammed Kyler Murray outright, saying, “Kyler Murray don’t care about anybody but Kyler Murray.”
As the Cardinals fell to 4-8 on the season, Peterson reprimanded Murray, saying, “Kyler Murray don’t care about anyone. The QB’s performance and leadership were major issues for the 4-8 team”. He continued, “That’s just the matter of fact.” Murray then decided to respond to Peterson on Twitter in an aggressive manner.

Kyler Murray Responds to Patrick Peterson’s Criticism
When Murray learned of Peterson’s scathing criticism, he was unhappy. He called the cornerback out for making such a public insinuation of his character given their relationship as former teammates:
This isn’t true…you on some weird shit @p2 you got my number, if you really felt like this as a “big bro” or “mentor” you supposed to call me and tell me, not drag me so your podcast can grow… https://t.co/MFqbMKh3la

“This isn’t true you on some weird sh—, you got my number, if you really felt like this as a “big bro” or “mentor,” you supposed to call me and tell me, not drag me so your podcast can grow,” Murray wrote in a Tweet after a clip from Peterson’s show, “All Things Covered” went viral.
It’s difficult to disagree with Murray’s overarching viewpoint. When the two were teammates from 2019 to 2020, Peterson could have told Murray if he felt this way about him but he didn’t and now, he is taking his frustration out on podcasts.
Prior to Peterson’s remarks, McFadden stated his opinion that Murray ought to keep some of his thoughts to himself. All the drama which is ensuing right now can be avoided only if the team starts winning. It will be interesting to see how the Cardinals perform going further into the season.
