Player Ratings from the 2nd T20I between India and South Africa
Duminy and Klassen scripted a superb victory for South Africa, as the hosts tied up the match to set up a mouth watering decider on the 24th of this month.
India’s total of 188 was seemingly good enough for a victory, but the unfavourable weather conditions played right into South Africa’s hands. The wet ball created a big issue for the Indian bowlers, who could barley keep a grip on the ball.
Eventually India came up short, and will be looking to seal the series in the third T201.
PLAYER RATINGS
Shikhar Dhawan – 4/10
Dhawan started superbly for India, but could not continue his good form for his side as he perished after a start. He was very dissapointed after he was dismissed and will hopefully not waste another chance like this.
Rohit Sharma – 1/10
A golden duck for Rohit, as the Mumbai batsman will be under pressure to perform in the final match of the series.
Suresh Raina – 6/10
Raina played a decent hand, as the experienced left-hander continued his decent on his return to the side.
Virat Kohli – 1/10
For once, Virat Kohli failed with the bat, as the Indian captain was dismissed after a brilliant delivery from Dala.
Manish Pandey – 9/10
Outstanding performance from Pandey as his 79 was crucial to India reaching a final total of 188.
MS Dhoni – 8/10
Dhoni played a vintage innings, as Mahi’s 52 boosted India’s total past 180.
Hardik Pandya – 6/10
Did not get chance to bat, but his bowling showed further signs of improvement. Pandya the batsman may not have delivered on this tour, but Pandya the bowler has truly shone through.
Bhuvnneshwar Kumar– 7/10
A decent performance, but Bhuvi would have dissapointed after his man of the match exploits in the first T20I.
Jaydev Unadkat – 6/10
Another good performance with the ball, as Jaydev Unadkat bowled really well in the middle overs.
Yuzvendra Chahal – 2/10
Not a great outing for the leggie, as he was taken to the cleaners in the middle of the innings. He did pick up a wicket right at the death to return with figures of 0/64 in his four overs.
Shardul Thakur – 6/10
A decent performance by Thakur, as he once again impressed everyone.
