Put into bat by CSK in the first match of IPL 2018, Mumbai posted a respectable score after struggling in the initial few overs with Ishan Kishan, Surya Kumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya being major contributors to the score.
The score was not enough in the end as CSK blasted their way to victory with the help from Dwayne Bravo, Kedhar Jadhav and Ravindra Jadeja

Hardik Pandya – 9/10
Playing second fiddle to his brother Krunal,Hardik played a key role in Mumbai reaching a respectful 165 total.Picking up crucial wickets with his bowling also helped Mumbai.
Kieron Pollard – 5/10
The big man did not get to contribute with the bat or the ball, but was good throughout the match with his fielding in the deep.
Suryakumar Yadav- 7/10
Came in when Mumbai were under pressure after losing two early wickets, built a solid and quick partnership with Ishan Kishan
Krunal Pandya – 8/10
A rapid fire 41 off 20 balls from the southpaw saw him hit Mark Wood to the cleaners and helping Mumbai to post a respectable score on the board.
Mayank Markande – 9/10
A dream debut for leggie, getting Dhoni and Rayadu both to good googlies. A 3 wicket haul and a game to remember for him. Unfortunately,it was not enough for MI to win.
Mitchell McClenaghan- 4/10
He was taken to the cleaners by Bravo in the 18th over of the match, which shifted the tide towards CSK
Mustafizur Rahman- 6/10
A decent performance by the fiz.
Jasprit Bumrah- 5/10
He was well below average, especially in the death overs, he got hit all over the park.
