Real Madrid ‘signs Thibaut Courtois for €35m’

Courtois has been long linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have been long linked with Premier League goalkeepers like David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois. The Spanish giants almost signed the former in 2015, but the deal fell through on the last day of the transfer window. Ever since, Keylor Navas has been their first-choice goalkeeper and he has fulfilled his job decently over the seasons.

However, this summer, Real look intent to bringing a new Number 1 to the club. And according to Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, the Los Blancos have already completed the signing of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea.

Real Madrid have completed the deal worth €35m, according to the Spanish outlet.

Pipi Estrada, the Spanish journalist, said, “Courtois is signed by Real Madrid for 35 million euros”, an exclusive information that has been offered in ‘El Chiringuito’ and that could become official in the coming hours.”

Thibaut Courtois has formerly played for Real Madrid’s city rivals Atletico Madrid, however he was long linked with a move to the Champions League winners. Chelsea will not play the celebrated European competition this year, as they finished fifth in a disappointing league campaign.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also considering an offer for Eden Hazard worth in the region of €150m, after Cristiano Ronaldo left the club last week to join Juventus.

Hazard had earlier expressed his desire to join Real Madrid, and said that the club knows what it has to do to sign him before the World Cup. Hazard is currently with Belgium as they will play their final game against England for the third place on July 14.
