Ricciardo believes Verstappen is a better driver than Vettel
Daniel Ricciardo is gearing up for the German GP this week and would be hoping to get his campaign back on track as he hasn’t quite had the results that he would have wanted to have in the last few grand prix.
His teammate though is on the rise in the last few races and has finally found his feet this season, after a host of mistakes in the initial few races.
The Red Bull teammates enjoy a good relationship with each other despite that little qualifying incident a few weeks back, wherein Ricciardo wanted Verstappen to play it a little fair.
However, the duo have put that incident past them and with his latest comments in the August issue of F1 Racing, Ricciardo has shown the kind of respect he has for his teammate.
Ricciardo believes that Verstappen is a better driver than Vettel.
“Max, they are both very good, but I go for Max.” Ricciardo said.
Ricciardo was quizzed about how he felt racing with a teammate who was very strong and he was pretty happy with the challenges around it.
“There are absolute advantages: if you have a strong teammate, you push yourself harder, you learn more and you become better yourself. it’s a very good thing to have a strong teammate.”
“Max is a very good reference point.” Ricciardo said.
While Ricciardo’s statements over the his Red Bull future have suggested that he is staying.
However, when asked if Vettel was probably a little afraid of having Ricciardo as a teammate once again, he said “probably(in a teasing tone)”
Do you think Verstappen is a better driver than Vettel?
