Maurizio Sarri says the Eden Hazard can leave Chelsea if he wants but insists the Italian would love to keep him.

Eden Hazard has been linked with a move away from Chelsea since the summer transfer window. According to various sources, it is understood that the Belgian has turned down three contract extensions from the Blues over the last year which will force them to listen to offers in the forthcoming summer rather than running down his contract which expires in 2020.

After shipping off Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid last summer, the Blues could lose their star Eden Hazard to the reigning Champions League winners. Real Madrid Florentino Perez did his best to convince the 28-year-old to join the Los Blancos last summer, but Hazard decided to stay at Stamford Bridge as the new boss Maurizio Sarri was not willing to listen to any offers.

There are various resources quoting that the English outfit are prepared to sell him for a fee of 100 million pounds in the forthcoming summer transfer. It is also understandable that they would be willing to listen to offers more than 70 million because he would enter into the last year of his Chelsea contract when this season ends.

The current Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was asked if Eden Hazard would leave in the upcoming months. The Italian insisted that the Belgian could leave the club, but he would love to keep hold of him.

“Eden is 28. If he wants to go, I think he has to go,” Sarri told reporters ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash at Bournemouth.

“Of course, I hope the opposite, I hope he wants to stay here. He has the potential to be the best player in Europe at the moment.”

Eden Hazard has been deployed in the false nine position earlier this month, but the signing of the Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain could see the Belgian moving back to his primary position. The Chelsea forward has scored 10 and assisted another 10 to his name in the Premier League this season.

“It’s my job to improve him and put him in a position to do his best.” said the Italian International.

Eden Hazard is one among the very few who has scored 10 goals and set up 10 to his name in the top five leagues this season. Even though Chelsea have been blowing hot and cold, the Belgian has been in fine fettle since the kick start of the season.

Chelsea will take on Bournemouth in the Premier League on Wednesday as they seek to bounce back from the defeat to Arsenal.
