The stage was all set for the glorious release of Street Fighter 6. And it is safe to say that they smashed the landing. Already on the path to breaking records, there are many more highs the title is set to hit.

Capcom’s latest addition to their long-running fighting game, Street Fighter 6 released yesterday. And, as one of the most anticipated titles, the game smashes all records of concurrent players within a day of its release.

With Street Fighter 6 sailing sky-high, it is only a matter of time before they start building more records. Without further ado, let us see what records Capcom smashed within a day of the release of the game.

Street Fighter 6 makes history on release

It was no surprise that Street Fighter was the most anticipated fighting game title of 2023. After the announcement at last year’s The Game Awards, fans have been waiting patiently for Capcom to release the game. The developers shed light on the release date which was set to be June 2, 2023. And it released, quite literally with a bang.

Although there were many expectations from the fans, Capcom made sure to do justice. They delivered a game so inch-perfect that it skyrocketed in critic reviews even before its official release. With almost every media outlet giving the title near-perfect scores, the game was destined to be great.

And, to add to the greatness, the game has already amassed a massive number of concurrent players. After only 24 hours of the official release, Street Fighter 6 already has more than 64,000 concurrent players in a day. Just for comparison, the closest number belongs to Mortal Kombat 11. And, it’s technically not even close.

Street Fighter is one of the longest-running fighting game titles in the history of gaming. The franchise has seen many console changes during its long period of stay. And it is only getting better by the day. With traditional game modes bolstered by two new modes, the game is only going to get better. And who knows, maybe this isn’t even Street Fighter 6’s final form.
