IPL 2018: Suresh Raina ruled out for 10 days
Chennai Super Kings are having a tough Wednesday after enduring one of the most famous IPL nights in CSK’s history.
After all their home IPL games were shifted out of Chennai due to the Cauvery water dispute protests, Chennai’s second favourite ‘darling’ Suresh Raina finds himself out of the IPL for 10 days.
Raina would this miss the next 2 CSK games because of a calf injury. The injury made its appearance during the 2nd innings of CSK’s game against KKR.
While initially it seemed like a cramp, Raina was actually suffering from a calf strain and the doctors have advised him a rehabilitation period of 10 days.
Raina wasn’t able to maintain a firm base while batting and ended up holing out to Narine in the deep.
CSK’s doctors have confirmed that Raina is ‘unlikely’ to feature in the KXIP game, however, reports in the SportsStar state that Raina could be out of action for 10 days.
CSK’s home games have been moved to Pune, as confirmed by the IPL Chairman, Rajeev Shukla.
“We had decided to hold all IPL matches in Chennai on police’s assurance that adequate security would be provided,” Rajiv Shukla said.
“But today Chennai Police informed CSK that they won’t be able to do it. So matches are now being shifted. Pune is one of our options.” he added.
CSK fans would be devastated with this double blow. While nothing can be done about the matches that have been shifted out due to the protests, CSK fans would be desperately hoping that Raina gets back to full fitness as soon as possible.
