With just 14 days left for the premier Twenty20 tournament of India all eight franchises started working on building their possible XI. Meanwhile, after serving two-year of suspension Chennai Super Kings have returned to the IPL fold.

Now, on this pious occasion, CSK team management has retained their core team which led them to success in the history of the tournament.

After the auction, many cricket pundits termed CSK an ‘old age home’ as most of their players are on the wrong side of the 30s.
Now, in the 11th edition of the league, these five players will be under the scanner.
Shane Watson
Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson did a great job in the Big Bash League (BBL) for Sydney Thunder.
Hence, it is believed that former Royal Challengers Bangalore cricketer will prove his worth while playing for CSK for the first time.
His form will be crucial to CSK’s success this time around, and on a personal level he will need to finish his IPL career with a flourish!
MS Dhoni
Captain MS Dhoni has been asked to lead CSK in the upcoming edition of IPL. Though, Dhoni is no more the captain of Indian team he is still one of the best brains in cricket.
However, his batting could be a big headache for the Chennai side. CSK has invested INR 15 crore.

Needless to say, Dhoni’s wicket-keeping skills are arguably the best in the business.
Considering his recent performances in international cricket he will be under scanner because the big question will be whether he will be able to deliver the desired result for his franchise.
Suresh Raina
In the history of CSK, southpaw Suresh Raina is one of the vital cogs. He is known for playing quickfire innings to steer his team to big win.
But, it seems he has already passed his prime. When he left CSK franchise he was in good form but right now he is struggling to get into mojo.

Recently, he was dropped from the Indian team. However, he was recalled in Indian T20 side. Though, he is not in great form CSK kept trust on him and invested INR 11 crore. Now, it will be interesting to see whether he will be able to perform or not.
Sam Billing
This wicket-keeping batsman of England is known as a talented cricketer. So, in the forthcoming edition, his contribution may play a key role for them. Though, CSK doesn’t need him to do the globes work he will be their key batsman.
This right-hand batsman has already proved his worth and it will be expected that he does that in the IPL for Chennai.
With English stars expected to star this season, let’s hope that Billings will impress the expectant Chennai crowd.
Ravindra Jadeja
CSK used RTM card for their one of the champion players Ravindra Jadeja. They have invested INR 7 crore on this spinner.
Jadeja is one of the best spinners in the business and a handy batsman. He can help CSK with his batting as well if required.
The all-rounder needs to regain his form if he wants to get back into the limited overs format for India. Let’s hope he gets that form back!
