The first match of the Women’s T20 Challenge went down to the wire and the experienced Trailblazers emerged victorious by just 2 runs in a high pressure match. The next match will be played between the Trailblazers and the new team, Velocity which is led by Mithali Raj.
The match will begin at 3:30 PM and is the only afternoon game in the tournament. Sawai Man Singh Stadium will once again play host to the clash between 2 strong teams.
TRA vs VEL Dream 11 Prediction
Wicket-keeper for TRA vs VEL Dream 11
I will be going for Sushma Verma over Ravi Kalpana as the wicket-keeper for my Dream11 team. While Kalpana has not made her T20I debut, Verma has played 19 ODIs between 2013 and 2016.
While both these players might not be the best of batters, Sushma Verma does present a stronger case since she is expected to bat in the top 7 unlike Kalapana. The experience of Verma will also be a strong consideration for choosing her.
Bowlers for TRA vs VEL Dream 11
We saw that the pitch at Jaipur was pretty slow as usual and even 141 was defended. The turn on the pitch will tempt me to pick more spinners than pacers. The Dream11 points system is biased towards batsmen and hence, selecting more than 3 or 4 bowlers could spell doom.
I might be a little biased towards the Trailblazers bowlers here who have played on this pitch yesterday and would know the way to bowl here better than the Velocity bowlers who will be playing their first match.

My first pick of the match would surely be Sophie Ecclestone. She was absolutely brilliant the other night when she picked up 2 crucial wickets of Priya Puniya and Sophie Devine. She gave away just 11 runs in 4 overs and also bowled in the powerplay. She walks into my team.
The next spinner who makes my team is Rajeshwari Gayakwad. She complemented Ecclestone beautifully and picked up 2 important wickets of Athapaththu and Natalie Sciver which boosted the Trailblazers to victory. On this pitch, she would be very effective.
From Velocity, Ekta Bisht makes it to my team. She is an experienced Indian bowler and has picked up 50 wickets in 40 T20I matches at an economy of just over 5. She could give me around 20 points if the pitch assists her like it is expected to.
All-rounders for TRA vs VEL Dream 11
I have decided to invest in as many as 3 all-rounders for this match. The first obvious pick here is Stephanie Taylor who has been a prolific all-rounder throughout her career. She was not able to fire in the first match but she would be itching to make a mark here. She bats in the top 4 and can bowl 2 or more overs depending on the situation.
My second pick here would be Harleen Deol. She can bowl some off-spinners but primarily, I select her since she batted really well at No. 3 yesterday with Smriti Mandhana and stabilized the innings. She can make a huge impact with the bat again. Bring her in!
My third all-rounder for this match will be the New Zealand cricketer Amelia Kerr. She can bowl some wonderful leg-spinners and can smash the ball as well. She is the current record holder of the highest ODI score in women’s cricket which she scored when she opened.

She might open in this match too and that makes Kerr a must-have in the team. It was a toss-up between Deepti Sharma and Kerr but Sharma’s batting position of No. 5 or lower went against her.
Batsmen for TRA vs VEL Dream 11
I can pick 4 batswomen here and I am left with 38.5 credits. It would have been enough in most matches. However, there are some absolutely brilliant batswomen playing in this match and choosing 4 proved to be a tough task. Smriti Mandhana will probably walk into every Dream11 team. She has been delightful to watch and had taken the match yesterday by storm scoring 90 runs and leading from the front.
The next batswomen I am picking is Danielle Wyatt, the English batswomen. She is an incredible batter who can roll over her arm as well. She has a strike rate of over 122 in T20Is and has scored 1211 runs in 92 matches. She needs to be in your team. I have also made her the vice captain of my team.
Suzie Bates would be my next pick. She opens the batting and would give plenty of points on her day. She can hit some beautiful strokes and can do serious damage up the order. With 3,100 runs in 111 matches at a strike rate of over 112, Bates walks in to the team.
The last position is up for grabs and is a toss-up between Hayley Matthews and Mithali Raj. While Matthews has been a prolific batswoman and has a strike rate of over 110, Mithali Raj is one of the most experienced and dependable batswoman in the world currently having scored 2,314 runs in 87 matches at an average of 37.30 but she has a low strike rate.
You can go for any of these batswomen but I would go with Mithali Raj simply because she is more dependable and having a better strike rate would not give you too many points on Dream11.
