Here are the Twitter reactions as Manchester City beat Chelsea on penalties to lift the League cup.
Manchester City and Chelsea produced a stalemate after the completion of extra time and the game was decided on penalties. With this trophy, Pep Guardiola added the third major accolade of his managerial career at Etihad Stadium, after League Cup and Premier League success last season.
Chelsea will be considering themselves unlucky for their attacking display in the second half. Maurizio Sarri would have been happy with the performance, but he would be disgusted with his goalkeeper Kepa who decided to stay on the field to take the penalties despite feeling his leg cramp. The Chelsea boss was furious with the shot-stopper who decided to stay on rather than getting substituted.
The Spanish International did save a penalty, but he will be fuming about the tame Sergio Aguero’s spot-kick which should have been comfortably dealt with. When the ball went in, the Manchester City striker was totally surprised and turned back to his teammates with full laughter.
Jorginho’s penalty was to be blamed as he tried to pass the ball into the goal. David Luiz was the another Chelsea player who did not convert the penalty. On the other hand, Leroy Sane’s penalty was the only one saved.
Ilkay Gundogan, Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, and Raheem Sterling convert the spot-kicks for Pep Guardiola whilst Eden Hazard, Emerson, and Cesar Azilipilicueta were the ones to find the back of the net.
Here is how Twitter reacted as Chelsea went down to Manchester City on penalties and Kepa provides a moment of madness by protesting against his own manager.

Karma is real. Kepa with the most disgraceful disrespect I have ever seen towards a club and their manager. He just dragged the Chelsea name through the dirt. Ridiculous. Feel bad for Sarri and Chelsea fans. That was insane man. GG to city for ensuring Karma was dished out.

I would resign if I was M Sarri. Kepa has not only disrespected Sarri but also Caballero!!!!!! #AbsoluteJoke of a dressing room. The skipper should have walked Kepa off as well. #CarabaoCup

Jorginho and Kepa were already announced the best in the league in their positions by Chelsea fans
I feel so so sorry for them. 🤣

Imagine Kepa trying this nonsense under John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba

Kepa is a disgrace. He’s messed everything up. Sarri cannot be sacked after this. He simply can’t. Today was an example of player power at Chelsea. Kepa thought of himself instead of the team and it cost everyone. Disgraceful.

Sarri describing the Kepa incident as a “misunderstanding”
Like when you have a fight with your other half, realise half way through that you’re in the wrong, and try to pull the ol’ misunderstanding card.
