During the Day 2 of the third and final Test between India and Sri Lanka at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, Delhi, a weird incident took place when all the Sri Lankan players were spotted wearing masks in order to counter the pollution in the city.

The effect of smog was there in the national capital that forced the Lankan players to wear the masks on the turf. Recently, Virat Kohli spoke about the importance to control pollution in Delhi as the city has already been in a nasty state with a thick layer of smog and pollution.
“If we have to win this match against the pollution, we all have to come forward and fight against it. It is our responsibility to reduce the pollution levels. Especially the people from Delhi, it’s their responsibility,” Virat Kohli had said.
With the Indians giving tough time to the Lankans on the field from word go, they just couldn’t control the dominance as they were in the heat of the scrap. Not only did that add frustration to them but also the effect of pollution as well.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Sri Lankan players wearing masks in the third test:
Sri Lanka kept complaining about pollution then Kohli told okay come out we will bowl and India takes wicket in first ball Kohli pumped up…

Apparently, weather not hazy enough to bat! That's the reason Lankans, who had masks on while fielding, are batting without them. #INDvSL

What a shame that pollution level in Delhi is so alarming that it gives Sri Lankan team a lame excuse to abandoned the match … #INDvSL
