However, the fight never came to fruition, as Chimaev failed to make weight. Thus, Diaz fought against another UFC veteran, Tony Ferguson. Fortunately, Diaz won the fight and also put on a stunning performance for the fans. He received the farewell that he deserved and respectfully left the UFC. However, the fan-favorite still has a window open for a UFC return only to fight Conor McGregor for the third time.

Diaz’s manager, Zach Rosenfield, recently told MMA Junkie about a possible trilogy. He said, “Nate is going to be looking at the biggest fights possible. He has stated that completing the trilogy with Conor McGregor is something that interests him, and that has not changed.”
