The face of the fight game has ironically officially had it with the fight game. Conor McGregor, who has not once shied away from controversy has once again had a contentious opinion of the UFC games by EA Sports. When the sport of mixed martial arts experienced its commendable rise, Conor McGregor was at the forefront of it. Prior to his debut in 2013, there was just one version of the UFC game in the past 20 years.

However, with McGregor guiding them, the sport flourished. Along with it came the fame which enabled the introduction of second & third versions of the game: ‘UFC 2’ & ‘UFC 3’. Conor McGregor graced the cover alongside former 135lbs champion

The 34-year-old was the cover athlete for both games, given his standing and reputation. Since then, EA Sports have gone on to make another couple of enhanced versions of the game.

With a fifth version currently in the pipeline. McGregor’s former training partner Dillon Danis is slated to make his boxing debut against influencer-turned-boxer KSI.

In a recent back-and-forth on Twitter between the Irishman and KSI, McGregor made his feelings known about the contest between Danis and KSI. And McGregor who once had made an acquaintance of KSI over six years ago, referred to their incident whilst berating the newer games.

Conor McGregor thrashes the UFC:4 game!

For someone who was on the cover of ‘UFC 2’, the Notorious one’s fall from grace has been a strenuous watch. As such with the rise of other famed stars, McGregor’s time as the cover star was up. Enter Jorge Masvidal and Israel Adesanya who were handed the keys to the kingdom.

As such, one would assume Conor McGregor has taken that personally and has berated the game in his recent tweet. Speaking about the game, McGregor said:

The big bad boss of @Burberry. Damn those early ufc games where the best. The new one current is garbáiste.”

The former two-weight world champion’s opinion of the game might be biased or unbiased, which is left for debate. At the end of the day as long as the game is inclusive, user-friendly, and not difficult to dissect as to how to emerge victorious, it wouldn’t be as bad.

UFC 5 is on the horizon!

At present EA Sports haven’t provided a release date for their highly anticipated game. EA Sports have so far released a new UFC game every two years since the arrival of UFC 2 in 2014, as has been the norm.

The new game, which ideally should have been set for release before the year came to a close, has no tentative date for expectations. One can hope that this would mean that the creators are hopefully putting together a phenomenal game for us to play.
