Ahead of $10,000,000+ Boxing Debut, Francis Ngannou Admires Mike Tyson’s Discipline: “Do It Like You…”
Francis Ngannou is once again making the headlines. However, this time it’s due to his side quest into the world of boxing. The former UFC heavyweight champion after cutting ties with UFC has decided to venture into a boxing fight with one of the greatest heavyweights ever to do it. Ngannou will take on Tyson Fury in a quest to become ‘The Worlds’ Baddest Motherfu*ker’. What’s more, Mike Tyson himself has decided to help Ngannou coach boxing before his showdown against ‘The Gypsy King’. Thus, ahead of $10 million boxing debut, Ngannou revealed his admiration for Mike Tyson’s discipline.
Francis Ngannou has not tasted defeat for a long time. Before leaving the UFC, Ngannou was the heavyweight champion and on a six-fight win streak. However, he is facing a foe who has never tasted defeat in his entire professional career.
Like Ngannou, Tyson Fury is also a physical specimen. From the brink of destruction, he dragged himself back to championship-winning shape. What’s more, he has stood tall against the likes of Deontay Wilder, thus Ngannou will need all the help he can get from ‘Iron Mike‘. By the looks of it, he is taking notes from one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
Francis Ngannou reveals his admiration for Mike Tyson
Francis Ngannou is currently training with Mike Tyson for his upcoming fight against Tyson Fury. ‘The Predator’ shared one of the videos of him training with Tyson on his Instagram handle. In the post was a video of him sparring with the audio of Tyson speaking about discipline with Joe Rogan.
Tyson said, “I don’t care how good you are in anything you don’t have discipline you ain’t nobody, right? You’re nothing without discipline because you give up on the slightest struggle without discipline. Discipline is doing what you hate to do but doing it like you love it.” Ngannou wrote, “I’m comfortable being uncomfortable #FuryNgannou #RiyadhSeason.“

Ngannou and Tyson have a lot of respect for each other. That’s why Tyson stepped forward to help Ngannou box against Fury. What’s more, Tyson even appeared on Mike Tyson’s podcast, ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson‘. During their conversation on the podcast, Tyson revealed the one piece of advice he would give to Ngannou.
Tyson’s advice to Ngannou
Francis Nganno sat down for a conversation with Mike Tyson a couple of years ago. Back then he was still a #2 ranked fighter in the UFC. However, he had gained notoriety for hitting hard. During the conversation, Tyson revealed how he can call out fighters for ducking him.
Tyson said, “He’s always a gentleman, as he is, right?… but he could politely call people out. You have to let the people know that this is what I’m aware of and make them aware of what’s going on. Since these guys don’t want to fight… Make the crowd, make the people aware that the people are afraid to fight. I’ve offered this for him, I offered this, I asked him to fight me here. What is it that I have to do? Do I have to cut off my arm for him to fight me?“
Ngannou was patiently listening to the advice Tyson was giving, as for a while, it was really difficult for him to find an opponent. He was sitting on the sidelines for quite a while where as the division was moving forwards. Now, Tyson and Ngannou have paired up together and the fans are patiently waiting for the explosion in October.
