Dana White, who is ever busy commissioning the biggest promotion of MMA, also takes every step forward to elevate the stature of UFC, and in-process gives fans an intriguing contest. However, in a revelation he disclosed how this once, he was unable to escalate an exciting act, which would have featured Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor.

In a recent interview with Barstool Sports, the UFC president revealed a fallen plan, that on implementation, would have placed the biggest of the foes, McGregor and Nurmagomedov in coaching roles opposite each other.

Evidently, UFC pursued Khabib and Conor to become a part of the season 29 of reality series “The Ultimate Fighter”, which is set to premier later this year. While the promotion was bold enough to believe that these fierce rivals can come face-to-face outside the ring, the starling news is that the fighters were on board. However, the idea fell through after Khabib pulled out, citing McGregor’s recent attempt to undermine the UFC boss.

Dana White’s Statement

“He was going to do it until Conor did all of this (expletive), I almost had it. That’s what I was saying. I felt like I was in a good place and I was going to get that done. We were going to do ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ on ESPN and (expletive) do the rematch. But you know, Conor blew that. … Yeah, Khabib said (expletive) him.” (Source- MMA Junkie)

According to White, their participation in TUF 29, would have ultimately led to their rematch. The two previously met in the Octagon at UFC 229, where Khabib Nurmagomedov registered a convincing victory over Conor McGregor.
