Jan Blachowicz, who at UFC 253 became the new face of the Light Heavyweight division, has been quite busy calling out former champions of the same weight division, every since the event.
In his post-match comments he laid out a challenge in front of Jon Jones, the former champion at the behest of which, Jan Blachowicz Vs. Dominick Reyes became the title fight. And then a couple of days later, he called out the future hall of famer Daniel Cormier.
Jones relinquished the title to move to the Heavyweight division, however, after watching Blachowicz mentioning his name live, he took to Twitter to tease the polish, and wrote, “Would you guys be annoyed if I went back and grabbed my belt real quick?”, but after a few minutes Bones quashed the speculation of any skirmish, by posting, “The more I think about it, I’m glad the belt went to such a humble guy. I’m sincerely happy for Jan.”
Jan Blachowicz Wants Daniel Cormier To Confront Him In The Ring
While with Jon Jones, things apparently ended amicably, but with Daniel Cormier, Blachowicz was relatively more hostile. On Monday, DC was engaged in his usual weekly discussion with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, the two in the DC & Helwani show were giving out the recap of the eventful week, and at one point in the show they started talking about a potential Jon Jones and Jan Blachowicz fight. The former champ-champ Daniel Cormier, reflected on the unlikely fight, and conveyed, it the bout takes place, Blachowicz will fall short.
Jan seemingly wasn’t pleased with DC’s comments, and thus wants Daniel Cormier to confront him in the ring.
“Hey dc_mma! If you have so much to say about me, get your fat a** off the couch and come to the Octagon. I’ll teach you some respect.”
Daniel Cormier, who is now out retired, gave a subtle answer to the new champion. “No chance champ, congrats on a big win. You’re the man! You’re the king now, you shouldn’t worry bout what an old retired man is saying. Great job getting that title.”
Jan Blachowicz Received Hero’s Welcome at Polish Airport
After Securing the victory against Dominick Reyes, Jan Blachowicz instantly headed home with the gold strap, and when he arrived he received a rousing reception at the polish airport, from his home fans.
