Joe Rogan Explaines Why Floyd Mayweather Is the Greatest Boxer of All Time for Him Ahead of Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali

For decades, the ongoing debate about the GOAT in boxing has captivated fans worldwide. Among the prime candidates often discussed are legendary fighters like Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Tyson Fury, Manny Pacquiao, and Floyd Mayweather. Interestingly, even renowned American podcaster Joe Rogan, who has made a name for himself in the combat sports field as a UFC commentator and interviewer, has a strong passion for boxing. When it comes to his choice for the GOAT, Rogan surprises many by siding with Floyd Mayweather, rather than selecting from the numerous boxing greats he has interviewed on his podcasts.

In this debate about the Boxing GOAT, Joe Rogan, with his vast knowledge and experience in combat sports, decided to weigh in. As a podcaster, he has had the privilege of hosting renowned boxers such as Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury, Evander Holyfield, and Mike Tyson on his show.

Despite the opportunity to engage with these legendary fighters and hear their perspectives, Rogan ultimately formed his own opinion. Standing firm on his belief, he publicly declared that Floyd Mayweather deserves the prestigious title of the GOAT in the world of boxing.

Joe Rogan hailed Floyd Mayweather as Boxing Goat

Mayweather’s relevance in the boxing scene endures, even years after his retirement, as he remains undefeated. While Joe Rogan holds great admiration for Mike Tyson, he believes Tyson’s success was not as consistent as Mayweather’s. During a podcast Rogan talks about who he thinks is the goat of boxing.

Rogan said, “It’s arguably he (Floyd Mayweather) is. Not just great defense like the best defense of all time…. I think Mike Tyson [was] in his prime when he knocked out Larry Holmes, when he starched Marvis Frazier, when he was just smashing everybody. I think he had reached this level that you could only maintain for a certain amount of years.”

In Joe Rogan’s view, if Muhammad Ali and Tyson had competed in the same era, their rivalry would have fueled their growth and made them even better boxers. Interestingly, it is worth noting that Tyson harbors no fondness for Mayweather, as the two have engaged in a series of heated exchanges in the past.

Mayweather claimed that he is better than Muhammad Ali

Mayweather firmly believes that he holds the title of the greatest boxer of all time. In expressing his viewpoint, Mayweather pointed out Muhammad Ali’s defeat at the hands of Leon Spinks, who had only achieved 7 wins in his career.

Mayweather said, “Is Ali the same fighter that got beat by a fighter with seven fights? Leon Spinks beat Muhammad Ali when he only had seven fights. We’re just telling the truth. Next.

However, this statement from Mayweather enraged Mike Tyson, a staunch admirer of Muhammad Ali. Tyson retaliated by questioning Mayweather’s greatness, asking why he couldn’t even take his kids to school if he was truly as remarkable as he claimed to be.
