“I will KO Dustin Poirier” – Conor McGregor promises Stephen A Smith to end UFC 257 fight in spectacular fashion
Conor McGregor promises Stephen A Smith to end UFC 257 fight in spectacular fashion. This will be his first fight since he took on Donald Cerrone last year.
UFC 257 promises to be an exciting affair with Conor McGregor coming out of retirement to face Dustin Poirier. They last faced each other six years back. Poirier has since grown from strength to strength while McGregor has retired more times than most people get married.

Almost a year ago, the Notorious came out of retirement to face Donald Cerrone in a 40 second squash. Between then and now, he hung his boots again only to announce a return to the cage this weekend. Poirier will likely be a tougher challenge then the Cowboy. McGregor however, believes that like Cerrone, he will knock Poirier out on his return bout to go 2-0 on him.

McGregor had said a couple of weeks back that his fight with Poirier wouldn’t last more than a minute. During the UFC 257 “Countdown” Show, he said:
“I like Dustin. I think he’s a good fighter. He’s even a great fighter. But great is still levels below me. I’ll knock Dustin out inside 60 seconds.”
The last time the two faced each other, McGregor got the job done at 1:46 of the first round. He also famously knocked Jose Aldo in 13 seconds at UFC 194 after predicting his win.
Unlike the previous fights however, McGregor has not frequented the Octagon much in the last few years. He has only had three fights since 2018 while Poirier has had 8. Both of them have only lost once and to the same man; Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Poirier will fancy his chances more this time. However, a motivated McGregor will always be a threat and if he says he’s looking for a knockout within 60 seconds, you better pay attention because he might just go out there and do it.
