'People don't know who I am yet but after Saturday I think It's Gonna Show'- Devin Clark On Headlining UFC Vegas 15

Devin Clark gives a preview of his fight against Anthony Smith. The two are set to headline UFC Vegas 15.

Devin Clark, who was earlier the co-main feature of UFC Vegas 15 alongside Anthony Smith, is now set to main event for the first time in UFC after the initial headliner bout between Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes got scrapped.

Clark, apparently is all geared up and wants to make the most out of the opportunity for not just to leapfrog other contenders in the title contention but also to announce his name at the main event scene.

Devin Clark currently does not have a spot in the top 15 of the Light Heavyweight division, however, the 30-year-old is focused and hopes to breach the threshold of rankings by intending to get a win over the fighter who is No.6th in the division.

In the prelude of his fight with Anthony Smith, Clark expressed his thoughts about the opportunity in an interview with ESPN.

“The opportunity is big”, he said. “But it is still a fight. I’ve fought at main events with a bigger crowd per se because obviously there’s no crowd. So, it’s when we get in there it’s just another fight. Main event or not, I’ve been there he’s been there before and let’s do this it’s an exciting fight for the fans. I believe a lot of people might not know who I am yet but after Saturday night I think It’s gonna show “

On being asked whether he had any reluctance in switching to a 5-round fight, Devin Clark stated, “They obviously gave us a choice. My manager called me this morning, ‘Do you wanna? I said you can do five rounds if you want’, and I said absolutely let’s go, because I’m like I said I’m preparing for the championship. That’s what’s on my mind. I didn’t train for five rounds but it doesn’t matter. I trained hard and I know I’m in shape and at the same I know Anthony didn’t train for five rounds. So, it’s a fair fight.”
