UFC Legend Once Revealed Dana White’s ‘$10,000’ Worth Kind Gesture for Stopping Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor Post-Fight Brawl
Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov, one of the biggest fights in UFC history, took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in 2018. At UFC 299, the Russian MMA superstar submitted former two-weight champion McGregor in the fourth round. However, one of the fight’s highlights that fans remember is Nurmagomedov leaping over the fence. ‘The Eagle’ pounced on Team McGregor in an effort to strike Dillion Danis.
After that, all hell broke loose, as Team McGregor and Team Khabib battled both inside and outside the cage. This was something that fans have never seen before in the UFC. However, one man rescued the day.
UFC legend calmed things down at Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
Authorities attempted to maintain order following the chaos at UFC 229. However, considering their vicious rivalry, it was difficult to keep the guys under control. However, Daniel Cormier, a former UFC dual-weight champion, was instrumental in resolving the situation.
Cormier and Nurmagomedov are long-time teammates and friends. Thus, Cormier, who was present, said in an interview that he attempted to enter the cage but was denied. Nurmagomedov, on the other hand, requested his entry. Cormier said:

“I paid $10,000 to get into the arena with my family to support Khabib…I was trying to go up to talk to him and they kept pushing me. But, he kept telling them. This is my captain. Let him through. So when I finally got close enough to him, I told him, “Hey, what in the world is going on? What are you doing? You have got to calm down.”
Cormier also said that Dana White and the UFC granted him a full ticket refund after speaking with Nurmagomedov and settling things down. Dana White and the UFC made an effort to thank DC for his assistance during the ordeal.
The rivalry between Nurmagomedov and McGregor
The rivalry between McGregor and Nurmagomedov was one of the biggest in the history of combat sports. It was so intense that even their teams got involved. McGregor, in particular, left no stone unturned to mentally distract the Russian fighter.
‘The Notorious’ even brought Nurmagomedov’s family into the trash talk in the lead-up to the fight. However, he was unable to defeat Nurmagomedov inside the cage. The fight ended up being one of the most successful pay-per-view events in UFC history.
Even after four years of fighting, the rivalry is still alive and well. McGregor frequently mocks ‘The Eagle’ on social media, despite the fact that the latter has retired from competition. Unfortunately, fans may never see a rematch between them.
What are your thoughts about McGregor and Nurmagomedov’s rivalry? What do you guys think about Dana White’s gesture for Cormier?
