"I know a b**ch her name Felicia she hits hard than you,” - "The Italian Dream" Marvin Vettori slams Paulo Costa over recent comment, instigates rematch

Marvin Vettori enters into the top 5 of the Middleweight division rankings. After a breakthrough performance at UFC Vegas 16, the fighter is now a certified top contender.

Following his big win over Jack Hermansson at UFC Vegas 16, Marvin Vettori was certain to jump up in the Middleweight rankings. The fighter was also acclaimed by the UFC president Dana White, who asserted at the post-event presser that Vettori will break into top-5 at the back of this performance. And now it turns out on Tuesday, December 8, Vettori climbed 8 placed and officially attained the 5th spot of the 185-pound division.

With the surge in rankings, Vettori is a certified top contender now. Having faced the division’s champion Israel Adesanya before and making him go the additional distance, the Italian dream might soon get the title shot.

After securing a thumping win last week, Vettori in his post-match interaction challenged Paulo Costa but at the presser later on made his intentions clear that he has eyes on the big prize and wants to face the Last Stylebender next.

However, a rematch between Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori is not in the foreseeable future as Adesanya is targetted to face Jan Blachowicz (Not official) next and as of now Robert Whittaker is the apparent No.1 contender for the Middleweight title.

Interim Title Speculations

Since UFC is apparently firm at conducting a champion Vs. Champion match between the Light Heavyweight and Middleweight champion, therefore, the title scene of the Middleweight division will remain motionless at least till the first quarter of 2021, as Blchowicz has reiterated that he is not determined to return before March 2021. But meanwhile, there are speculations about the introduction of an Interim title.

So, whether an Interim title can emerge is anybody’s guess but, with contenders like Marvin Vettori pilling-up, The Middleweight division is set to witness some intriguing encounters in 2021.
