UFC Confirms Ion Cutelaba Vs. Magomed Ankalaev is Off

Ion Cutelaba’s has been tested positive for Coronavirus, and had to withdraw form the event. The rematch was initially booked for UFC 249 (April), but Corona had the world in its shackles back then so the event could not take place, however the bout was again placed on the card of UFC 252, where again Covid made its presence felt, as the Hulk was found to be vulnerable of the Virus, and again for the third time Covid-19 has dismantled the plans of the initiation of the fight, as Ion Cutelaba again is in grip of the deadly virus.

UFC confirms, attempts will again be made to get the rematch done. “Due to a positive COVID-19 test, Ion Cutelaba’s light heavyweight fight against Magomed Ankalaev has been removed from today’s undercard and will be rescheduled for a later date.”

The two met earlier in the year at UFC Norfolk (February), where referee Kevin Macdonald made all the headlines with the supposed early stoppage. Currently the score is 1-0 in favor of Magomed Ankalaev.
