It happened during the 19th over of the Indian innings. The 4th delivery by Bangladesh’s medium pacer, Mohammad Saifuddin cleaned-up Virat Kohli after the ball deflected onto the stumps after hitting his pads.

It was an almost perfect yorker bowled by Saifuddin, which perhaps Kohli wasn’t anticipating from the former at all. Saifuddin, who was bowling around the 126-127 km/h mark consistently, surprised the Indian captain, as the blockhole made Kohli instinctively go for his famous flick in the mid-wicket region, only for the ball to dismantle his off stump.

Became Grandhomme’s victim in the first Warm-up match

It is the second time in a row when Kohli, was undone by a bowler who’s not likely to shatter his stumps 9 times out of 10. He was cleaned up by an even slower medium pacer- Colin De Grandhomme, of New Zealand during the first Warm-up match at the Kia Oval in London. This is not what the billions of Indian fans across the globe expect from their biggest hope ahead of the World Cup.
