Virat Kohli on Anushka Sharma

Virat Kohli on Anushka Sharma: Kohli dedicated his Man of the match award to Anushka Sharma for motivating him during tough times.

Virat Kohli is a man in love, something that he hasn’t hid from the world for a long time and isn’t afraid of expressing his love for his wife on public forums.

In the past Anushka has been criticised for Kohli’s poor performances, a social media trend that has upset Kohli a fair bit.

India vs England Test highlights: India secure a thumping win

He has constantly spoken about the motivation that Anushka brings into his life and how she has been a pillar of strength during tough times.

The Indian captain performed exceedingly well in the 3rd Test, winning the Man of the match award. He then quickly dedicated the award to his wife, stressing on her importance in his life.

“I haven’t thought about the 2014 failures, but I’d like to dedicate this to my wife who is here and keeps motivating me. She’s copped a lot in the past but she deserves the credit for this one.” he said.

Love has helped Kohli succeed in life, it has given him the power and strength to go out there and challenge the world. You don’t often see Indian captains be so upfront about their spouses/relationships, but Kohli has always spoken highly about how his relationship has helped him become a better player, a better person.

Apart from the way he bats, leads, fields and trains, this quality of Virat, wherein he is not shy to talk about love is something that other athletes and human beings can learn from.

Kohli then also complimented the Indian fast bowlers, for having out paced the English bowlers in this test match.

“The four fastest bowlers in the series have been Indians and we’re proud of our fitness levels. We want the opposition to bat well and get runs and we don’t want to gift them any, we want to get rid of loose balls. They’re getting into that kind of a mindset and getting Test runs should be difficult.” Kohli said.

The Indian skipper was then quizzed about the Indian mindset going into the 4th Test and if the believed India could script a historic come back. To this Kohli had a pretty simple reply, wherein he spoke about the belief in the team and how everyone was focussed on winning this series.

“We definitely believe we can come back from 0-2 to 3-2, we just need to keep moving forward, keep winning. We wouldn’t be 2-1 if we didn’t believe. The respect and the belief in the change room is important, and one must keep wanting to win. We need to bring out the impact performances in the next two Tests as well.” Kohli concluded.
