WATCH: Anthony Davis appears on LeBron James' show and talks about his NBA future

Anthony Davis and LeBron James shared the floor finally. It wasn’t the Staples Center floor that the two superstars were dreaming of sharing, it was LeBron’s show ‘The Shop’ where he hosted two of American sports’ most disgruntled super stars in Antonio Brown (NFL) and Anthony Davis.

Anthony Davis was seen as a calm and quiet superstar, having not step one foot out of the line for much of his career and seemed to only focus on playing his game. But 6 and half years of terrible work around him by the Pelicans front office finally frustrated him enough to make him ask for a trade. But what ensued was a lot of drama between Magic Johnson and his flashy media mismanagement, Dell Demps and his vigilante mission against a solid Lakers package and Rich Paul, Davis’ agent and a major power player in the league.

Anthony Davis got caught in the eye of the storm and fans started turning on him fast. With his current situation stuck in a weird Limbo Maverick Carter, co-producer of the show with LeBron asked Davis if it was a tough situation to be in.

“It is tough,” replied Davis. “You just don’t know, like I don’t know. I have one year left on {my} contract so I’m not sure what they’re going to do. Obviously, I stated my intentions, but I did that this year. They sit down and go, ‘We’ll keep you here.’ So for me, it’s just not knowing what’s going to happen. At the end of day, they might as well do what they do.”

LeBron spoke in Davis’ defense, saying, “You know what’s crazy is that I feel like you feel the momentum shifting and I think right now at this point I think AD is finally starting to feel the momentum shift. As great as he’s been in our league these last five years, I think now he’s finally starting to see the momentum shift and who he is though.”

LeBron and AD also spoke about AD’s parents and how they have been by his side all the time, hiding from the limelight and just doing their thing.

“One thing I love about his mom and dad…his mom and dad are so gangsta though. They don’t want no limelight. They don’t want to be in the limelight. They literally go to the game and be sitting at the concession stand watching the game.” LeBron James said.

Davis finally seemed to open up once LeBron had spoken for him, saying, “Yeah, and that’s what it is. All of the media coverage around me, I’m now getting a chance to take over my career and say what I want to say and do what I want to do. So now you see everybody alright, ‘I see AD changing.’ Everybody telling me, ‘You’re growing up. About time to take care of your business, take care of your career.’ So now, like as a player, as the CEO of my own business, I got the power. I’m doing what I want to do and not what somebody is telling me.”

Davis has been a bit shielded from the limelight throughout his career having playing in a small market team through his career. It has done a lot to keep his image a relative unknown, but if Davis wants to play in a big market team like LA, he has to learn a lot about being a superstar. He has taken baby steps towards achieving that today, but theres a long way to go. Thankfully he has the biggest star of them all in his corner, ready to help him navigate the testy waters of NBA superstardom.
