WATCH: LeBron James tells Kawhi Leonard to be in ‘touch’ after Lakers vs Raptors game
LeBron James and the Lakers have all but given up on making the playoffs for the 2018/19 NBA season.
A loss against the Kawhi Leonard led Toronto Raptors last night meant that the Lakers still sit in 11th place in the Western Conference, with a very slight chance of making it to the playoffs.
With Ingram and Ball injured, the Lakers have already pulled the plug on this season. LeBron James too is on a minutes restriction, something that he is struggling to cope with.
The last month has been a tumultuous one for the Lakers, as they have suffered defeats to teams that they should have won against and have dug their own hole with respect to playoff chances.

Now, with focus lifted off this season, LeBron James and the Lakers are looking to the future. They are preparing for the draft and would be hoping to get some good first round picks. But along with the draft comes the long summer, one that is highly anticipated, considering the free agents on offer.
Kawhi Leonard is one of those superstars that could be on the move this summer and LeBron James is trying his best to bring him to LA.
While initial reports had stated that Kawhi Leonard wasn’t interested in moving to LA and joining forces with LeBron James, a video that has surfaced on social media today, makes for different reading.
After the game in Toronto, LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard embraced each other and while it seemed like just another embrace at first; LeBron was caught on camera telling Kawhi that “they’ll be in touch”.
However, as you can see from the video, when LeBron tells him to be in touch, Kawhi literally looks away and doesn’t respond in anyway. Perhaps the rumours of him not wanting to play in LA are in fact true.

While that doesn’t necessarily mean that Kawhi could be moving to LA, it does show that LeBron James and the Lakers are interested in the possibility of a LeBron-Kawhi partnership in LA.
Lakers have space to include two superstars on their roster and while they have been actively seeking Anthony Davis, there is space for one more.
According to reports, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving could be off to the Knicks and thus Kawhi becomes hot property for the Lakers going into the summer.
Who do you think will be the most important trade prospect for the Lakers going into the next season?
The Anthony Davis trade saga has gotten a little too toxic and hence the Lakers might need to look elsewhere to acquire the services of two NBA superstars. Whatever they decide, this summer is sure to be one busy one in LA.
Interesting times ahead.
