Virat Kohli lays perfect trap to dismiss Jason Holder off Yuzvendra Chahal during India vs West Indies match | Cricket World Cup 2019

Virat Kohli lays perfect trap to dismiss Jason Holder off Yuzvendra Chahal’s bowling during India vs Windies World Cup match at Manchester

The Indian Team completely outplayed West Indies in the Match no.34 of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 by 125 runs to carry on with their unbeaten winning streak in the tournament so far. The Windies unfortunately crash out of the tournament on the back of some consistent careless Cricket, especially with the bat throughout.

On the other hand, Team India was as clinical as ever, especially in the bowling department, with well executed plans and strategies throughout the six matches they have played in the tournament so far.

To provide further testimony to the aforementioned fact, Virat Kohli pulled of a well planned trap to dismiss the Windies skipper and all-rounder Jason Holder.

What was the plan?

It all happened in the 24th over of the second innings. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was bowling his second over of the innings, wherein he picked up the crucial wicket of Holder to rattle the Windies batting line up with 98/5 on the scoreboard chasing India’s 268.

But, just before Holder’s dismissal in the 5th delivery of the over, skipper Virat Kohli and Chahal had laid a perfectly planned trap to get rid of the tall all-rounder.

The two had an interesting conversation, where Kohli was clearly seen advising Chahal to give enough flight to the delivery and commit Holder to go for the unavoidable uppish drive.

With mutual consent, Kohli cleverly placed two fielders- one at the conventional extra cover and the other fielder (Kedar Jadhav) just to the right to the aforementioned at the edge of the 30-yard circle.

To the duo’s surprise, the very next ball Holder did fall to perfectly laid trap and handed the simplest of catches to Jadhav, stationed inches inside the inner circle. A dejected Holder, could not believe as to what he had done, despite taking note of all the field changes that took place.
