Becky Lynch Reveals The Original "Title Give In" Plan

Becky Lynch relinquished her WWE title on May 11, at the follow-up Raw of the 2020 Money In The Bank. However, The Man reveals the original plan was different than the one that was carried out.

At the following WWE Raw of the 2020 Money In The Bank, Becky Lynch informed the entire WWE Universe about her pregnancy, and consequently abdicated her title for Asuka, who was the winner of the women’s Money In The Bank Match.

She giving up WWE Raw Women’s Championship, became an emotional moment at that time. But, The Man recently made an appearance on the podcast of Bella twins, and revealed the original plan. Which was somewhat different.

What Was The Original Plan?

Talking to the Bellas (Who are Also Pregnant), Becky Lynch disclosed, the original set-up was a tournament for the No.1 contendership. Where before the final an announcement would have made about it being actually a title match.

Lynch also revealed that Seth Rollins was also one of the decision makers. She said “It was like, ‘Oh frick, is there a way that she can just beat me real quick?’ Colby’s [Rollins] like, ‘No! No, you’re not — no!’   So then we talked a lot and then decided, like, ‘What if there’s a tournament for the #1 contendership so the people, they don’t know that they’re actually going to be competing for the title. And then right as they go to have that last match, whoever gets there at the end, then I tell them, ‘Well, actually this is for the title”.

Becky Lynch Explained Why The Plan Was Not Put Into Action

The Irishwoman, explained that with Money In the Bank looming at the same same. It was difficult to act upon the plan, as this might have created confusion. So, eventually it was decided that the Money In the Bank match would be unveiled as the ultimate title match.
