Rey called the title win his greatest accomplishment and ranked it ahead of his world title victories. This shows how important his son’s career is to him. Does that mean Rey will hand over his legacy to his son and have Dominik wear a mask in the future?

The legendary luchador discussed the possibility of his son Dominik eventually donning a luchador mask on on Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast. He told the WWE commentator that it wasn’t late for his son to wear a mask but he would have to earn it.

“That was the idea from day one that he started training: Dom will continue with this legacy and carry it on. But we never really had the opportunity to sit down and discuss our plans, which now in retrospect we can look at it and say it’s still not [too] late to make things happen like we had it planned out. So, I think Dom’s gonna have to earn the mask now, and he’s on his way. Eventually, one day, maybe the mask will be on.”

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
