Kairi Sane’s WWE status is reportedly ‘complicated’

In the time since, Jax has gone on to feud with her tag team partner Asuka for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. Kairi Sane’s WWE status on the other hand, is reportedly complicated according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select.

According to the report, the WWE originally wanted her to serve as an ambassador for the WWE in Japan. Although, there was no mention of how her non-wrestling role would have affected her career inside of the ring.

When asked if the ambassador role meted to Kairi Sane was a part of WWE’s expansion in Japan, Fighful were told that any plans to expand was off due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The report also notes that many in the company have been radio silent about her future within the company. There are still several people backstage who want to see her wrestle. Fightful also added that everyone they spoke to about the Japanese wrestler only had positive things to say about her.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
