Roman Reigns’ Hell in a Cell opponent revealed

Roman Reigns’ Hell in a Cell opponent revealed. With the pay per view two weeks away, the Tribal Chief is yet to receive an opponent for the Universal Title.

Roman Reigns is undoubtedly the biggest star in the WWE today. It is inevitable that he will be on their pay per view month after month. However, with only two weeks left to Hell in a Cell, it still isn’t clear who he will face for the Universal Championship.

According to a report from Dave Melzter however, the seeds for his next rivalry has already been planted and will possibly become clearer nearing the pay per view. It follows up from the final angle on the most recent episode of SmackDown but it is not who you think it is.

Roman Reigns’ Hell in a Cell opponent revealed

This week’s episode of SmackDown ended with Roman Reigns interferring in the tag team title match by attacking Rey and Dominik Mysterio. This aggrieved Jey Uso who walked out. Many believe this is leading to a match between the cousins. However, it seems that Reigns will likely face Rey Mysterio instead.

“Dave Meltzer has confirmed that Reigns defending against Mysterio is the direction for WWE’s next pay-per-view event, which takes place on June 20. This follows an angle on Friday’s SmackDown where Reigns attacked Mysterio and his son, Dominik, preventing The Usos from losing a second match against the father and son team.”

Reigns vs Jey seems to make more sense but it is likely that the WWE is saving it for a later event. Hell in a Cell will take place two weeks from now. Which means that the WWE only have two more episodes of SmackDown to make the match official before the pay per view.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
