Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins could take place sooner than expected

Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins could take place sooner than expected. The two former members of the Shield are part of SmackDown.

Seth Rollins was drafted to Friday Night SmackDown last year in October. This was the first time in his career that he became a full time member of the roster on the Blue Brand. The fans were excited upon learning of the move. Because this meant that the Messiah and Tribal Chief Roman Reigns were now on the same show.

The two have had a few interactions so far but there has been no build up to a potential match. The closest we got was when Rollins asked for a Universal title shot to Adam Pearce. However, that match went to Edge instead causing much grief to Rollins.

This is definitely leading to Edge vs Rollins at SummerSlam. Fans who have long desired a match between Roman and Rollins instead need not fret. It appears that there are plans for the former Shieldmates to eventually fight each other and it’s probably sooner than later.

Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins could take place sooner than expected

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Melzter discussed Roman Reigns and his future feuds. Melzter stated that the Tribal Chief will face Edge at Money in the Bank then John Cena at SummerSlam. He went on to add that his potential fued after Cena could be Rollins in September.

“That would probably be September, if they even get to it by September, because the last I heard for SummerSlam was Edge vs Seth Rollins. So, you know if Seth Rollins were to beat Edge then it makes all the sense in the world to go with Seth vs Roman Reigns at that point.”

Rollins and Reigns have faced each other numerous times in the past. However, in all their previous battles Reigns has portrayed the role of the face. If they do clash this will be the first time they do so with Reigns as the bad guy.

In fact, Rollins doesn’t even have to turn face for this feud. Both of their characters are egocentric and it would make sense for them to want to be the best and go at each other with or without the title on the line as long as it is acknowledged that there is no one better.

This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all.
