Sasha Banks vs Bayley rematch draws highest viewership in any wrestling show since the Pandemic hit all the way back in March.
Covid-19 brought life to a screeching halt back. Everything we knew and loved hit the pause button, some stopped completely. Wrestling is one of the very few that avoided closing down during the pandemic. However, it took a huge hit on their viewership.

The absence of fans made a world of impact on the production of the shows and it showed in the dwindling numbers every week. Two women however, took it upon themselves to carry the crowdless shows on their back, making an appearance on RAW, SmackDown and even NXT occasionally.

Sasha Banks and Bayley, two of WWE’s 4 Horsewomen, have also been, their greatest workhorses for the last few months. The pair have carried the promotion to some of their best ratings in the last few months. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that their last clash on SmackDown last week drew over 2.5 million!
This is the highest number in wrestling around the world since March! This is pre-pandemic numbers and proves that the audience is still there if the promotion provides them with the right content.
Unfortunately for the WWE, the numbers saw a decline as the show continued.
Sasha Banks successfully defended her title for the first time against Bayley last Friday. The SmackDown women’s champion will now feud with the returning Carmella. However, considering the huge interest in her feud with Bayley, it will be interesting to see if the WWE revisit the feud once again come Wrestlemania.
