Sonya Deville makes WWE return on SmackDown. Deville was victim to a real life kidnapping attempt by a crazed fan last year.

Sonya Deville’s career seemed to be on an upward trajectory last year. She was part of a long term storyline with friend turned foe Mandy Rose. Their feud went past Wrestlemania and finally concluded at last year’s SummerSlam Pay per view.

Her match with Rose was the only non championship women’s match on the SummerSlam card. Originally scheduled to be a hair vs hair match, it was changed to a loser’s leave match. Rose came out the victor forcing Deville to leave the WWE.

Sonya Deville finally made her WWE comeback on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. The former Absolution member did not do much except walk while everyone backstage stared at her.

The stipulation for Deville’s match with Rose was changed from hair vs hair to loser leaves because Deville had become a victim to an attempted kidnapping in her personal life. Deville was in need of a time off and this was WWE finding a way to give it to her.

There were concerns among fans that she may never step into a WWE ring again in the aftermath of the terrifying experience. However, she has come back and that is good news for everybody. Just one day into the new year and 2021 is already proving to be better than last year.
