WWE Legend Goldberg says Ricochet and three others will become massive stars in the future

WWE Legend Goldberg says Ricochet and three others will become massive stars in the future ahead of his WWE Championship match at Royal Rumble.

Goldberg was a massive name in WCW. Following the promotions folding, he went to the WWE and won the World Heavyweight Champion there. He would return years later to become the Universal Champion and he now has his sights set on becoming the oldest WWE Champion.

Before the match though, the WWE Hall of Famer sat down with the WWE to discuss the future of the business. When asked who he thought would become ‘massive stars’ from the current crop of wrestlers, Goldberg named four men who he thought had it.

“I mean the usual suspects,” Goldberg said. “Drew McIntyre, Keith Lee and Ricochet. I’ve always been a HUGE fan of Finn Bálor. I’d have to say those four are the future. There’s no question about it. In my opinion. And what do I know?”

That’s an interesting answer to say the least. All four of them are incredibly talented to have an entire promotion built around them. Of them however, Ricochet is the only one without a solid CV in the WWE.

Balor is NXT’s combined longest reigning champion and the first Universal Champion. He is also the fastest wrestler to win a World Championship in the WWE from the day of his debut.

Keith Lee is NXT’s first and only double champion so far while McIntyre is already a two time WWE Champion. Granted Ricochet has won the North American Championship and US Championship but that hardly compares to the accolades of the aforementioned names.

There is also the matter of booking. Balor, Lee and McIntyre have been treated like stars. It seemed that Ricochet was going to have a rocket strapped to his back. In recent months however, it seems like the WWE have given up on him.

However, this huge endorsement from Goldberg is sign that there is no question on his talent. Hopefully, this is a sign for what is to come and the resident superhero of WWE valiantly conquers whatever it is that is stopping him from reaching his potential in the promotion.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
