Vince McMahon threatened to fine Kurt Angle and Stone Cold $2000 everytime they laughed. The Olympic Gold Medalist recently recalled the incident.
Vince McMahon is a busy man. For him time is money and turns out, if you waste his time, you quite literally have him pay money. On the latest episode of The Kurt Angle Show,WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle spoke about how the WWE Chairman had to threaten them with fines in order to get them to stop from laughing during pre-tapes.

This was back when they were shooting the the iconic segment featuring Vince, Angle, Stone Cold Steve Austin and the cowboy hats. Fans will remember it as one of the funniest moments in WWE history. It seems that the performers found it quite hilarious too and couldn’t stop cracking up during the tapings.
This prompted Vince McMahon to threaten them with $2000 fines for each failed take. The warning was all the two needed. Neither of the two laughed anymore and the segment was shoot flawlessly.

“There were a lot of instances where, you know, we had to break the pre-tape and do it over again because we were laughing so hard. Vince was getting pissed off. Vince decided, ‘Listen, if you guys continue to laugh during the pre-tapes, before I yell cut, I’m going to fine you $2000 for each one.
“So, we got really serious about the pre-tape even though they were supposed to be funny. We had to, you know, be more serious about what we needed to do and what we needed to accomplish. We decided we weren’t going to laugh anymore, and we were able to get the pre-tapes done a lot quicker then.”
