Roman Reigns WrestleMania 40

There have been reports going around recently that claim WWE aims to create new title reign records. And right now, if you take a look at the company’s locker room, Roman Reigns is the man of the hour. The Undisputed Champion has been holding a title since 2020, and at the upcoming Night of Champions, will complete 1000 days as champion. Moreover, considering a recent report, it appears he isn’t losing his gold anytime soon. In fact, you might see Roman Reigns walking into WrestleMania 40 and 41 as champion.

Everyone was sure that Cody Rhodes would end the dominance of The Tribal Chief at this year’s WrestleMania. However, even he suffered the same fate that men like Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and Goldberg did. So, the big question right now is, when is WWE planning to take the titles off him?

WWE’s current plan for Roman Reigns is to enter WrestleMania 40 and 41 as champion

WrestlingBlog, through a recent tweet, has shed light on some major insights about the future of The Tribal Chief’s title reign. It discussed WWE’s current creative plans for Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 and even 41.

According to the report, as of now, the management has no plans of taking the title off The Tribal Chief. In fact, he might end up holding the titles for a long long time. WrestlingBlog claims that WWE, currently, wants Roman Reigns to walk into WrestleMania 40 and 41 holding the championship.

However, for that to happen, two things need to go smoothly. First, The Tribal Chief should not face any injury issues, and second, in the next two years, he should not get called to work in Hollywood.

“As of right now the current plan of WWE is for Roman Reigns is to walk into WrestleMania 40 and 41 as Champion if everything goes smoothly of no serious injuries or Roman getting a called from Hollywood during that road of 2 years.”

The Undisputed Champion might not square off against The American Nightmare again this year

Well, almost every WWE fan wants Cody Rhodes to finish his story by dethroning The Tribal Chief. In fact, despite the WrestleMania 39 encounter going the latter’s way, there’s been a demand for a rematch. Apparently, the company has no such plans for both men, at least not in 2023.

WrestlingBlog reports that right now, WWE hasn’t considered doing a rematch between Cody and Roman this year. For those who speculate it might happen at SummerSlam 2023, it’s not. The report claims The American Nightmare could be facing Brock Lesnar this summer.

Nevertheless, booking Roman Reigns as champion at WrestleMania 40 and 41 might not be a bad decision after all. The last 12-plus months of The Bloodline have proved that if planned and executed properly, long-term storylines still work. Though it will be interesting to see how WWE approaches if they go with the above plan.
