WWE Raw 8th July 2019 Preview: Roman Reigns mystery partner, AJ Styles and The Club, Rey Mysterio returns and much more

WWE Raw 8th July 2019 Preview: Roman Reigns mystery partner, AJ Styles and The Club, Rey Mysterio returns and much more announced for this week’s episode of Raw.

Last week’s Raw saw a significant change in the tone, pacing and overall feel of the show. The Heyman Era has begun and WWE will hope they can carry that forward. The WWE have announced a couple of matches and a few segments for the upcoming episode on their social media.

Here’s the preview of the go home show before their Extreme Rules Pay Per View.

Roman Reigns and his Mystery Partner Vs Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre

Roman Reigns will take on Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre in what should be a dress rehearsal for their no holds barred match at Extreme Rules. Except, Undertaker will not take the ring with the Big Dog. Instead Roman will be partnered by a wrestler of Shane’s choosing.

Oh, and if you think the Undertaker will teleport to the ring for the save then you’re wrong. The stipulation for this match is that if the deadman interferes he will be out of their Extreme Rules match.

So, who will partner Roman? One name that comes to mind is Elias. The drifter could help make matters worse for the Big Dog and greatly skew the numbers game against him. However, there is one superstar who has thrown his name into the mix.

Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins Vs Andrade and Zelina Vega

The Raw women’s champion and the Universal champion will take on yet another mixed tag team this week. The duo made easy work of Mike and Maria Kanellis last week. The match ended rather strangely when Becky tapped out Mike despite Maria being the legal participant. With Vince reportedly high on Andrade, expect this match to be more competitive.

Also, considering this is the last episode before Extreme Rules, expect Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans to run interference.

AJ Styles and The Club takeover WWE Raw

AJ Styles first match after his Universal championship bout with Seth Rollins was with newly crowned United States Champion, Ricochet. Styles defeated the one and only and earned a title shot last week. However, the phenomenal one lost when it mattered. Egged on by the good brothers earlier in the day, AJ turned heel and attacked the U.S champion and reformed the club in the process.

The trio were named Superstars of the week. It will be interesting to see which direction is the WWE headed with them. Styles could perhaps be booked in a title match at Extreme Rules.

Braun Strowman’s response

Last week on Raw, Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley had an absolutely explosive match, both figuratively and literally.

Lashley followed the match with a video that aired on SmackDown. The almighty one threatened Strowman and told him that he wasn’t done with him. This week the WWE have announced that the monster among men will come up with a response to Lashley’s threat.

R-Truth and his 48/7 European Championship

The man synonymous with the 24/7 championship was duped last week by Drake Maverick and Truth wants his title back. Except Maverick is on his honeymoon.

Could Truth crash his honeymoon? Well he did crash his wedding, honeymoon in comparison is well, child’s play.

Joe wants payback

Samoa Joe teamed up with the Viking Raiders and beat the New Day in a 6-men tag team match. The match ended after Joe choked out Kofi Kingston with the coquina clutch. However, Joe received his retribution the following night, after the WWE champion flipped him off and knocked him out with a Trouble in paradise.

The challenger to the champion will now issue his response this coming Raw.

Rey Mysterio returns

Rey Mysterio had to relinquish the United States championship last month after suffering from a shoulder injury. The Luchador dropped the title back to Samoa Joe. Joe then ambushed and choked him while he was on his way out. It will be interesting to see if Mysterio comes back for the U.S Championship, he never lost or will he be looking for revenge against Joe.
