Has anyone won Royal Rumble three times

The Royal Rumble is one of the most anticipated WWE events of the year. The 30-person matches set up the promotion’s WrestleMania main event storylines and, on several occasions, set up mid-card feuds and high profile matches as well. Even if you remove the storytelling capabilities of the Royal Rumble match, it is still an exciting feature because of the prospective returns, even if it is only for one night. The match has regularly showcased returns of legends and sometimes even debuts. This year, however, there are reports that the match will have non-traditional surprises in it.

The set-up for the match is already unpredictable to begin with. You rarely know who will feature in it and at what number they will appear in. Every countdown is met with fans chanting the numbers on the screen before popping for the next name. This new element will only add more to the unpredictability.

WWE Royal Rumble 2023 Will Reportedly Feature ‘Non- Traditional’ Surprises

According to a report from Fightful, several veterans have reached out to the WWE about a possible appearance at The Royal Rumble. However, the WWE have been leaning out of it in order to accommodate “non-traditional surprises.”

It is not clear as of now what that means, but it is something that the creative and producers have reportedly been pitching for.

The report read:

“Fightful Select has learned that while several veterans have contacted WWE about making Royal Rumble appearances, WWE was said to have been leaning out of that in some cases in favor of what they call “non traditional surprises.” Unsure of what that meant, creative and producers were soliciting pitches for such a thing.”

It will be interesting to see this play out. Royal Rumble 2023 is set to be Triple H’s first in charge of it. He will definitely want it to be memorable and look for something different to do, like he did with Survivor Series when he introduced WarGames to the main roster for the first-time last year.

Ronda Rousey not scheduled for Royal Rumble

There was an interesting tidbit of information regarding Ronda Rousey in the same report. As of now, it appears that last year’s Women’s Royal Rumble winner is not scheduled to appear at the event. She was originally set to feature at The Royal Rumble in a singles match.

However, plans seem to have changed after she lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to a returning Charlotte Flair.

The WWE also appear to be confident in their women’s roster, which is much more stacked than last year after a string of releases. The match last year featured a number of veterans because of how thin their roster was at the time. The situation has changed since, and they believe that their hires, and NXT call-ups are ready for the event.

Jason Cade and TJ Wilson will help with the Royal Rumble.
