Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Finally Opens Up on Vince McMahon Selling WWE
The start of 2023 came in as a shocker for the whole WWE universe, with Vince McMahon returning to the company. Proving many pundits right, the former CEO regained his power in the WWE Board and, in fact, is looking to sell the company. Following the shocking turn of events, many experts have expressed their views on the future of WWE. Likewise, WWE icon Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has also talked about the company’s potential sale.
Recently, the wrestler-turned-Hollywood megastar spoke to CNBC’s Squawk in the Street where he discussed his ZOA Energy drink business. On the show, The Great One also expressed his views on Vince’s return and the ongoing situation.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared how he sees the idea of WWE going for a sale
On the show, the former 10-time world champion was asked about Vince McMahon’s return and his aim to sell the company. Without diving deep into the topic, The Great One gave his honest views. The Rock called WWE an “exciting brand” and mentioned the success he has had there for decades.
Talking about the return of his ex-boss, The Great One expressed to the company his best wishes for the future. The Rock then discussed the idea of WWE going for a sale. He noted the passionate fan base the company has and stated “there’s nothing like the WWE”.
Moreover, The Rock feels if WWE does indeed go for sale, the new boss needs to have the same passion that Mr. McMahon had. He stated:
“I think with the new owners if there are new owners[of WWE], and acquirers that are going to come in, I think they have to share that same passion that Vince has for the company and for the world of pro wrestling, which isn’t always easy to do.”
The Rock also said that with a successful company like WWE, a sale could end up being complicated. However, he does believe Vince will find the right buyer who shared the same love and passion for pro wrestling.
